Thus, the department of medical services provides the following services: Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Cath Lab, General Medicine, Dermatology and Cosmetology, Dental, Oncology, Nephrology, Nuclear Medicine, Neurology, Physiotherapy, Psychiatry and Psychology, Diagnostic and other services - Radiology, Laboratory, Pharmacy Nutrition and Health Education, and Homeopathy (Alnoorhospital.com, 2012). All these functional departments are integrated into one Information System of the Hospital that allows efficient communication among stakeholders.
The most critical functions of the department are to provide the above-mentioned services at the highest possible level and to do it in a timely fashion. Modern health-care system exploits information technologies rather substantially these days. On the other hand, implementation of keeping health records in electronic form, electronic prescription practice, and computer-based decision support systems are the future of the health-care industry. Moreover, there is an obvious need to create such electronic systems that would be easy-to-use and if not free but inexpensive at least. It is the only possible way to promote the use of IT within medical practices these days. Otherwise, the issues will grow and become deeper from year to year. The thing is that health-care industry is rather conservative so the approach should be careful and considering all the peculiarities in order to change something.
